Create a Name Tag with Avery Label Merge

The first Add On that we will explore is Avery Label Merge. This Add On utilizes both Google Docs and Google Sheets. The Avery Label we will use for this post is Avery 74459. This would be a great name tag to use for special events, staff meetings or welcoming student teachers into your school.

The first thing you need to do is use sheets to create a spreadsheet. In my example, I used First Name, Last Name, and Title with five entries. When completed you can just exit Sheets but remember what you named it.

The second thing you will need to do is open a Google Doc, select Add Ons ->Avery Label Merge. You will then be given an option between address labels or name tags.

Next you will select your label, in this example I chose Avery 74459. After you select the label, a prompts will ask you for that Google Sheet document you created earlier. You will have an option to customize column header names, and then simply click merge. A new document will be created will all your merged data from the spreadsheet.
